Coventry University is a global, modern UK university with a mission of creating better futures. Founded in 1843 as the Coventry School of Design, we continue to have strong links with the public and private sector, providing job-ready graduates with the skills and creative thinking to improve their communities. Our city-centre campus is continually developing and evolving, and we are a major presence in Coventry, which contributes to the city's friendly and vibrant atmosphere. For EU students looking to study with us in 2023/24, we are pleased to offer our EU Support Bursary which will offset the cost of your tuition fees to bring them in-line with that of UK students, and will be renewable annually and therefore applicable throughout the full duration of your course, subject to academic progression.
Teaching and learning
With a proud tradition of innovative teaching and learning, Coventry University has world-class campus facilities benefitting over 30,000 students studying at our UK campuses. Most students study at our city-centre campus in Coventry which includes the UK’s first standalone 5G network and a digital community of learning. The number of students on each course ranges from around 10 to 200 and our students enjoy access to placements and international opportunities with almost all undergraduate courses featuring an optional sandwich year, ensuring employment prospects are enhanced by the time they graduate.
From drug testing technology to community-based rehabilitation for prisoners, and from developing transport systems for the future to shifting perceptions and policy for homeless people, our research demonstrates our commitment to improving the lives of those in the UK and globally. Our research has also been recognised for its quality, with 70% of all Coventry University research classified as ‘World Leading’ or ‘Internationally Excellent’ in the Research Excellence Framework 2021.
Over two centuries, we have flourished in Coventry and Coventry University Group now also delivers access to our range of high-quality services and partnerships through our other UK campuses based in London and Scarborough, our latest campus in Wroclaw, Poland, and our global presence in Belgium, Poland, Egypt, Dubai, Singapore and Africa.
The university is recognised internationally for its expertise in health, peacebuilding and disaster management, and for the world-leading calibre of its engineering and design graduates – particularly in the automotive field. At our main campus in Coventry, we have around 120 undergraduate courses available across our four faculties; Arts and Humanities, Business and Law, Health and Life Sciences and Engineering, Environment and Computing.
Awards and rankings
In recent years, we have won many awards and vastly improved our rankings in the league tables that matter to students, including joint 1st for employment prospects amongst modern universities in the Guardian University Guide 2022 and as a top 3 Student City in England according to the QS Best Student Cities Index 2023 – but what matters to us is delivering transformational change for our students, partners and communities around the world.
