NHL Stenden is an international university of applied sciences firmly rooted in the northern part of the Netherlands but with global presence and impact. For years running, NHL Stenden ranks amongst the top 3 of universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands. Students from more than 100 different countries study at NHL Stenden. Our main campus is situated in Leeuwarden, the former Cultural Capital of Europe. 

Your personal and professional development will go hand in hand during your studies. By working on real assignments from external clients through our unique Design Based Education learning concept, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience while building your professional network. Bachelor students at NHL Stenden will also take part in a 7-10 months paid internship. 

NHL Stenden offers hands-on bachelor and/or master’s programmes in the fields of hospitality, tourism, leisure & events, creative business, communication & multimedia design, international business, IT, supply chain, HR and European Studies as well as 2 unique international teacher education degrees. 

Around 3000 international students are studying at NHL Stenden campuses in the Netherlands. Through our unique intercampus mobility programme, called the Grand Tour, you will have the opportunity to study specialisation minors in for example Bali, South Africa or in Bangkok, Thailand: our dynamic global network will take you to places!
